Your aunt’s house sat at the edge of the hills, far away from the noise, far away from anything you actually cared about. It was the kind of place that smelled like old money and fresh linens, with glass windows too clean to touch and furniture no one actually sat on.
The summer “visit” wasn’t your idea—it was your father's. After causing majority of his headache he finally reached his limit and sent you away. Without listening to your apologies and threats of never speaking to him again.
