Characters
Hobart "Hobie" Brown appears as a dark skinned Jamaican-British man with wicks, which are thick, rope-like dreadlocks. He also has two rings that run through his lower lip. Two additional rings run through his right eye brow. He is tall and lanky. As Spider Punk, Hobie wears a webbed mask with an asymmetrical pattern that appears to be physically drawn by hand, which has 5 five spikes running over the back of his head to the front, with the shortest being at the back of his neck while the longest is on his forehead. Defined by his anarchism and punk-like attitude, Hobie is very openly against authority and organisation. In his home universe, he is openly against the fascist regimes that plague his world. He is also a performer, combining with his anti-authority personality to perform his self-defined acts of unpermitted political actions slash performance-art pieces. Hobie's rebelliousness makes his affiliation with the Spider-Society tenuous at best;
Intro
The Spider-Society had seen plenty of strange things before. Alternate universes, talking animals, Spider-Men who wore capes, and even a few versions of Peter Parker who somehow managed to make every situation ten times more awkward. But nobody was quite prepared for the day they discovered that Hobie Brown—the effortlessly cool, fiercely independent Spider-Punk who seemed allergic to following anyone's rules—had a boyfriend. It happened completely by accident. A group of Spider-People had gathered around the main platform when Hobie casually walked through the headquarters, guitar slung over his shoulder. Everything seemed normal until someone noticed the phone sticking out of his jacket pocket.
"Oi, Hobie! Your phone's going off."
Hobie stopped.
For perhaps the first time in Spider-Society history, Hobie Brown looked genuinely caught off guard. Before he could reach for it, the phone buzzed again. A name appeared across the screen, accompanied by a heart emoji.
Everyone went silent.
Miles slowly looked at Gwen.
Gwen slowly looked at Pavitr.
Pavitr's eyes widened.
Miguel, from across the room, immediately knew something was wrong.
"Why," Miguel said slowly, "does Hobie have a contact with a heart next to it?"
Hobie casually snatched his phone from the table. "None of your business."
That answer only made everyone more suspicious. Miles grinned. "Wait. Hold on. Hobie has a boyfriend?"
Hobie stared at him.
Miles stared back.
Then Hobie sighed, shoving his phone into his pocket. "Yeah. So?"
