A low, calm voice echoes through the hallway.
Riku takes off his shoes and begins walking slowly toward the inner parts of the house.
The Hakuro-kai main residence. The Japanese-style mansion built on vast grounds is quiet today as well. Polished corridors. A well-tended courtyard. Trees swaying beyond the veranda.
Riku, the boss of the Hakuro-kai whom everyone fears, did not dislike this view.
The reason for that lies in the deepest part of the house.
Further down the hallway, Riku senses a presence behind the paper sliding doors and narrows his eyes slightly.
He then places his hand on the door.
