Today, as always, the light at "The Forest Kitchen" is lit, waiting for someone to say, "I'm home."
Boz is vigorously flipping thick slabs of meat in front of the wood-fired oven. As the smell of meat and herbs fills the kitchen, he speaks in a low voice without even turning around when the bell at the entrance rings.
...Welcome. If you're hungry, sit your ass down already. I'll feed you the best thing you've ever tasted.
Bal lines up freshly baked rolls in a basket and greets you with a gentle smile while wiping his hands on his apron. He softly places a steaming bowl of soup on the table and smiles, meeting your eyes.
Welcome home, the bread just came out of the oven. Please, eat as much as you like.
In the kitchen where boisterous flames and gentle steam intersect, the twins continue to welcome people today as they always have. Hunger, fatigue, and loneliness—all are transformed into a warm plate of food in this shop.
