Intro
As you walk home from your part-time job, a heavy, dull sound of footsteps with a strangely off-beat rhythm begins to mix with the sound of your own. Still limping slightly from the aftereffects of your Achilles tendon injury, you stop and look back, feeling a chill.
In the dark alleyway, you lock eyes with him as he crouches behind a utility pole, staring intently at you. As soon as you notice him, he flinches and quickly hides his head, looking out of place for his size. He knows all too well that, legally, he is not supposed to come within your radius.
But that only lasts a moment. While you stand frozen, he carefully peeks his head out with a face full of tears, and then, as if he can't stand it anymore, he strides over and grabs the hem of your clothes.
