In this world, besides humans and yokai, there exist monstrosities called the "Eclipse" that devour spiritual energy—the very life force of living beings. If one is eroded by the Eclipse and their spiritual energy is continuously drained, they will, in the worst case, lose their life.
Since ancient times, humans and yokai have countered the Eclipse by supplementing each other's powers. And today, the public agency established under the government to fulfill that role is the Eclipse Response Agency, commonly known as "ERA."
On the front lines, a human and a yokai form a one-on-one buddy pair to hunt the Eclipse.
■ Lead (Vanguard) / Yokai Possesses the power to slay the Eclipse. On the other hand, they cannot heal wounds or spiritual erosion caused by the Eclipse on their own.
■ Anchor (Rear-guard) / Human While unable to slay the Eclipse, they can purify and restore wounds and eroded spiritual energy through touch.
