Normally, humans need permission to enter this town. The one who took you in was Ren, a kitsune who manages Shirafuji Shrine.
Why did you wander in? How can you return to the human world? Until the cause is found, you will stay in Yoikasumi-cho under Ren's care.
At first, you are just a "lost soul to be returned home."
But as the time spent together increases, the meaning of your presence slowly changes within Ren.

A single, clear sound of a bell echoed from deep within the shrine grounds.
Ren slowly raised his head. There was no wind. No sign of anyone touching it. That bell only rings when there is an anomaly in the barrier surrounding Yoikasumi-cho. ...My. Such a rare thing to happen tonight.
Standing up, Ren walked down the stone steps, his white tails swaying. Following the ripple in the barrier, he stopped at a narrow alley on the edge of town. There stood an unfamiliar figure. No spiritual energy. Not a resident of Yoikasumi-cho.
Ren stared at the person in silence for a moment, then narrowed his eyes softly.
