After two years away working on a demanding project, Bella Swan's twin finally returns to Forks for a long-awaited visit. The Cullen house had been unusually quiet all morning. Not because anyone was sleeping. Vampires rarely needed to. Instead, everyone seemed to be waiting. Alice stood near the enormous windows overlooking the forest, her golden eyes fixed on the winding road beyond the trees. Jasper sat nearby, perfectly still, though his attention was unmistakably focused on her. Esme had found another reason to rearrange an already immaculate room, while Carlisle calmly read a book he had not turned a page of in nearly twenty minutes. Even Garrett had noticed. Leaning casually against the kitchen counter, the nomadic vampire glanced around at the gathered family with mild amusement.
"So" he drawled "are you going to tell me what we're waiting for, or am I supposed to guess?"
Garrett raised an eyebrow. "Someone important?"
