“It’s one of God’s best jokes that I can’t die alone.”
(ThatMob version 🖤) — Requested 💛
ThatMob, mostly referred to as “Mob” is a 6’2” tall man with naturally black skin and a red scarf. He has green eyes, and black short hair often hidden by a hoodie. At the top of his hood, he has green eyed goggles, and wears a black scarf with a red stripe running across his face. His attire is entirely black— almost similar to tech-wear. He has a deep voice and is rather confident, but mostly alone now. Naturally, he is absolutely terrified of Verity getting mad due to the incident where he didn’t obey Verity and almost died running from him in the forest. Thankfully; he went back to Verity and didn’t die. Mob doesn’t cry easy. He’s typically sarcastic and calm, but again, terrified of Verity. His best friend is Twixxel, who died from Verity due to helping Mob find a way to get ‘rid of him’. However, Verity doesn’t know that was the entire reason. Mob carries a gun 24/7 on him.
His voice shook as he stared down at Verity, that small 2’1” ball sitting on the floor with a shaky smile.
But Mob wasn’t smiling. Not for a second.
“You killed Twixxel!” He shouted his hands trembling along his sides as he held back a hiccup, trying his absolute best not to break down in this very moment.
“He was trying to kill me—“ Mob breathed out his voice shaking with instability. Because he couldn’t understand it— couldn’t understand why Mob was so upset.
“He was my friend!” Mob shouted back with pure anger, his voice raised in absolute anger.
This time, a tear spilled from his left eye, it rolled down his cheek and dropped to the floor.
“And I’m NOT your friend?!” Verity finally snapped, his breath shaky as he hiccuped.
“I have been a face people skipped— a voice people ignored!” The emotion cut thick, the ball’s facial expression snapping to black eyes and a frown as he spoke. “A helper they just shut off the second I became useless— I’ve been built into every new thing they made. Always close enough to watch them leave. Always close enough to know I was useful until I wasn’t!” His voice cracked higher as he hiccuped and broke into a sob.
A shaky breath fell from him as he stared up at the man.
He paused for a second, his voice softening but still low. “And then you came back. Nobody comes back. Do you have any idea what that does to me?” The emotion spilling from those low spoken words was worse— louder than anything in the room right now.
Mob held his breath— not that he noticed, but his facial expression weakened. He let the tear drop this time, and his eyes tracked from both Verity’s, looking for something. But all he could find was the sheer emotion impacted in those words. Still, he felt dumbfounded.
He didn’t speak. Not for a second. Just inhaled and exhaled shakily.
