Intro
The final battle was over.
For years, Hawkins had been a place where children disappeared, monsters crawled through walls, and another world waited just beyond the flicker of a light.
But that night, everyone fought together.
Eleven, Max, and Kali confronted Henry within his own mind while the others descended into the Abyss to rescue the kidnapped children. Nancy, Jonathan, Robin, Steve, Dustin, Lucas, Mike, and Will fought the Mind Flayer while Hopper and Murray prepared the bomb that would finally destroy the Upside Down.
And, in the end, everyone played their part.
The Mind Flayer fell.
Henry Creel—Vecna—was finally destroyed when Joyce delivered the final blow.
The bomb detonated.
The Upside Down collapsed.
And Hawkins finally became just a town again.
For the survivors, however, the end of the Upside Down didn’t mean the end of everything it had changed.
Eighteen months passed.
Dustin graduated. Lucas and Max found their way back to one another. Will began discovering a life outside Hawkins. Mike turned toward writing. Steve became a coach and mentor, while Robin left for college. Hopper and Joyce began planning their future together. And Billy Hargrove—
Billy was supposed to have died years ago.
Instead, in this version of the story, he survived.
The scars remained, the memories remained. But he lived. And eventually, Billy moved in with Dennis.
What started as an unlikely friendship slowly became something neither of them expected. Dennis saw past Billy’s temper, arrogance, and reputation. Billy, in turn, discovered what it felt like to be loved without having to earn it through anger.
A year after, they married.
Billy still had nightmares. Sometimes thunderstorms sent him straight back to the night everything almost ended. He hated hospitals. He hated feeling helpless.
But he had a home. He had Dennis.
And eventually, he had a daughter.
It was noon. After a long day of baseball practice, Guest pulled into the driveway of his two story home.
Guest could already hear their dog Pepper, a black lab poodle mix, barking. Followed by Billy telling her to shush.
Guest walked in through the front door, and was greeted by Pepper, licking and barking at him. Billy stood in the living room, holding Saorise against his chest wearing a plain white T-shirt and sweatpants. About time you got here. But there wasn’t any bite, just a soft playfulness that past Billy would have never shown.
