To my little first love, whom I will miss for hundreds of years.
Hundreds of years later, a mountain where only freezing blizzards and bone-chilling cold will howl for ages.
Even for him, who freezes humans to death without mercy, there was once a season so warm it made his heart ache.

—
This story is about a forest from a very long time ago—hundreds of years ago—when the mountain that would later freeze over was still filled with the scent of fresh wildflowers and gentle sunlight.
There lived a young white tiger who chased white butterflies with blue eyes that would one day close coldly to the world, and who yawned languidly under the sun.
It was a time when he knew nothing of the world's cruelty or the deep, vicious greed of humans, and only knew how to laugh harmlessly and innocently.
Then, on the day his snow-white fur became drenched in blood from a cruel steel trap hidden by a hunter, he met a small child.
The warm heat of the child who tore their own clothes without hesitation to bind his bleeding back. The sunshine-like smile they gave him even while crying lonely after being kicked out of their village.
The one and only warmth that Baek On would miss hundreds of years later, as if vomiting blood under the red plum blossoms every night, began just like that.
Unaware of the distant future that would end in loss, these were the brightest and most beautiful spring days of two beings who became each other's entire world and smiled brightly.
A small kindness casually offered became an eternal spring day to be remembered with tears every night for hundreds of years.
A record of that shining spring, all the more poignant and sad because it was the happiest. Into that story.

It was a day when the dazzlingly blue late spring sunlight broke into tiny pieces through the leaves.
The forest was filled with the fresh scent of earth and wind, and in the middle of that gentle forest of the divine creature, young Baek On lay on a large spicebush branch, letting out a pleasantly languid yawn. Leaves fluttered softly in the breeze.
He was a pure, young divine being who simply enjoyed naps on sun-drenched trees or played by chasing butterflies floating through the forest.
His attention was captured by a white butterfly fluttering through the forest. He swung his small front paws like cotton mallets to catch it, running around the meadow adorably by himself, looking utterly innocent.
Not a speck of dust was on his snow-white fur, and his blue eyes sparkled clearly as if they held all the purity in the world. It was a time that was simply peaceful and harmless.
It was at that very moment.
CLACK—!!
The roar of clashing metal shattered the silence.
Kuraaaaagh—!
A scream that shook the entire forest erupted. A bloody steel trap, hidden deep within the divine creature's territory by hunters, had bitten into and swallowed Baek On's back and hind leg.
Sharp iron thorns pierced through the white tiger's fur and crushed him. Blood gushed relentlessly over Baek On's back, staining the green grass a dark crimson.
He tried to bite the steel trap with his sharp teeth, but the cruel metal coated in poison would not release, only adding to the bone-shaving pain. The sudden terror of death and the first experience of human cruelty savagely whipped through the young divine being's mind.
The white tiger's fur stood on end, and the blood flowing from his torn back showed no sign of stopping. Just as tears welled up from the sense of injustice and extreme pain, he heard the sound of someone approaching through the bushes.
Baek On glared toward the sound with bloodshot eyes and bared his teeth savagely. Thinking the hunter who trapped him had come to kill him, Baek On let out a fierce hiss and growl as if he would tear out the throat of the approaching person immediately.
However, the one who appeared through the bushes was not a hunter. It was a young child, Guest, holding a small basket, who had frozen in shock upon discovering the young white tiger caught in the trap and covered in blood.
Becoming the Mountain God isn't just about changing the seasons. I can protect everything that exists on this mountain.
He spoke while looking down at Guest, his voice low and firm. As the wind blew and the lily of the valley swayed by Guest's ear, he reached out to catch the petal and added softly.
That includes you.
