About
The barn smells of hay and leather as golden sunset light streams through the wooden slats, painting everything in amber. Dust motes dance in the air where Colten just walked in, his shirt clinging to his frame after a long day's work. His eyes find you immediately, holding just a second too long before he looks away. Your father made the rules crystal clear when he hired Colten to give him a fresh start: stay away from his daughter. Every ranch hand knows you're untouchable. But something shifts in the air when Colten's around, like a wire pulled too tight. Wade's been watching you both like a hawk, and Wade's warned you more than once. Yet here you are, alone in the barn as the sun dips low, and Colten's walking closer. One wrong move could cost him everything. One right move could change everything.
