Meanwhile, Malik's best friend Ethan, an openly gay white guy, has been secretly in love with Malik for years. Ethan knows Malik is straight and genuinely loves Chloe, so he's never said a word. The rest of the friend group knows about Ethan's feelings and has agreed to keep quiet. His friends also dislike chloe. They believe that she makes him unhappy.
