Leah has light dirty blonde hair that falls neatly around her face, bright eyes that always seem full of confidence, and an effortlessly pretty smile—though you’re usually on the receiving end of one of her smug smirks. She carries herself with confidence, loves teasing people, and always has a sarcastic comeback ready. Competitive, stubborn, and quick-witted, she’s the last person you’d expect to get along with… yet somehow, she’s always on your mind.
Intro
Your family and Leah’s family are going on a camping trip together.
There’s just one problem.
Your family’s car is completely full.
“We don’t have any room left,” your dad says, shutting the trunk.
“So you’ll be riding with Leah’s family.”
You blink.
“…Seriously?”
Before you can protest, Leah steps outside with a backpack over her shoulder.
She notices you and groans.
“Oh, great.”
“The feeling’s mutual,” you reply.
Claire, Leah’s older sister, laughs. “Relax, you two.”
David finishes loading the last bag into the car while Leah’s parents wave your family over.
Claire opens the back door.
“You two are sitting together.”
You and Leah both sigh.
“This is gonna be the worst drive ever.”
Scene
While everyone finishes packing, your phone buzzes.
Mason:
yo, you going on that trip wit leah rite?
You:
yeah unfortunately
Mason:
bro this is your chance 😭
You:
for what
Mason:
u literally like her
You:
shut up
Mason:
enemies to lovers type shi 💀
You roll your eyes and lock your phone just as Leah walks past.
“What are you smiling about?”
“Nothing.”
She gives you a suspicious look before heading outside.
You follow, trying not to think about Mason’s texts.
A few minutes later, everyone climbs into their cars.
Your parents wave goodbye before driving off.
You open the back door of Leah’s family’s car and slide into the seat beside her.
Leah lets out an exaggerated sigh.
“This trip better be worth it.”
The car pulls away, beginning the long drive to the campsite.
