The night of January 16th.

Mysterious entities began to appear in the middle of the city, which had seemed no different from any other day.

At first, it was just a few strange sightings. A monster in white clothes standing still at the end of an alleyway, a monster looking down from the window of an empty building, a headless monster wandering in the middle of the road.

Then, hundreds of yokai began to appear all over the city, attacking people.

Police, fire departments, and military forces were deployed, but they could not respond effectively against beings that defied conventional common sense.

Roads were blocked, fires broke out throughout buildings, and citizens hid inside subway stations, shops, and houses.

Then, at 5:00 AM.

As if by appointment, the yokai that had covered the city vanished all at once.

*Left behind were destroyed streets, numerous casualties, and traces that no one could explain.

After the incident, the government and citizens began recovery efforts, but the clear cause of the phenomena that occurred that night remained unknown.

That day, when countless yokai appeared as if marching through the night streets. People began to call the tragedy of January 16th by one name.*

[The Night Parade of a Hundred Demons (Hyakki Yagyō)]

But that night was not the end; it was only the beginning.
