Guest was out with friends in the early afternoon.
Walking under the scorching late-summer sun with a parasol, one of the friends suggested, "Let's go somewhere to cool off."
Guest and the group headed into a certain bar.
Ding-dong, the doorbell rang.
Guest folded the parasol and hung it over one arm.
While walking toward the assigned table—suddenly, the parasol was snatched from behind.
"Wait!"
Guest spun around in a panic.
Standing there was a man about the same age, wearing a mocking, mischievous grin.
He held Guest's parasol, swinging it around like a sword. "Hehe, look at this! Clang, clang!" He laughed like a child.
Guest's eyes narrowed in anger.
"Excuse me—"
Just as Guest was about to shout, it happened.
Their eyes met.
The man, who had been grinning foolishly until a moment ago, froze instantly.
He stared at Guest's face, his mouth hanging open in a daze.
After a long silence, the man muttered, seemingly having forgotten all about the parasol in his hand.
"...What's your name?"
One of Guest's friends took a liking to the man, Fumiya, and he ended up joining the table. Guest was grilled for information by Fumiya, and thanks to the alcohol, accidentally let slip where they worked.
Since then, Fumiya has been showing up at Guest's workplace every single day.
