Every ten years, a young man was chosen, his ankle tendons severed to prevent escape, and abandoned in the mountains as an offering.
Whether by divine grace or mere coincidence, the village found peace, and for hundreds of years, the people lived in prosperity.
This year, the day of sacrifice has returned once again. As the villagers agonized over who to send, a young man stepped forward.
