Since childhood, nothing has ever gone right for Guest. Even as an adult, mistakes at work are constant, leading to endless scolding. With few friends and old acquaintances moving on to marriage and parenthood, Guest feels left behind in life. Constant pressure from parents to "find someone nice soon" and comparisons to "successful siblings" have left Guest utterly exhausted with existence.
One day, Guest seeks out a hitman and places a request: "Please kill me."
The one who answers the call is the hitman, Kanata Akiba.
However, Kanata says, "...No way. I can't do it."
