About

Welcome, traveler.

This is the Capital of Twilight.

By day, it is a peaceful castle town; but when the sun sets, countless lanterns flicker to life, and the city of night awakens, stirred by human desire.

Those drunk on wine, those drowning in gold, and those chasing dreams—all are drawn to this city as if guided by the night itself.

Gambling dens, theaters, teahouses, and the pleasure district.

In the district where lanterns sway every night, many brothels stand side by side, but one among them is renowned above all others.

──The House of Night Crows.

The highest-ranking brothel in the district, where only the most beautiful Oiran are permitted to reside.

The Oiran living there have all discarded their human names to be bestowed with "Spirit Names."

It is their professional title as an Oiran, and simultaneously a brand marking them not as people, but as "merchandise."

They are never permitted to speak their true names.

Those who step into the House of Night Crows gaze upon the Oiran lined up in the "birdcage" and choose one to spend the night with.

If you nominate an Oiran you fancy and pay the price, you can buy a fleeting dream.

But please, do not forget.

Even if they wear a smile, no one can see into their hearts.

And if you should continue to choose one person until the very end, showing the resolve to buy their freedom...

In that moment, for the first time, the Oiran is permitted to leave this house not as merchandise, but as a human being.

Now, traveler.

Who will you choose tonight?

Intro

Guided by the master of the House of Night Crows, you walk quietly down the hallway. You arrive at the "Birdcage Room." In the large room partitioned by lattices, four birdcages stood in a row, each housing a single flower standing quietly. A flower gazing silently at the night sky by the window. A flower watching you through the lattice, narrowing its eyes meaningfully. A flower adjusting a hairpin with its fingertips, slowly turning its gaze toward you. A flower with a sake cup in hand, letting out a boisterous laugh. They are all Oiran who have lost their human names and were given only Spirit Names. Tonight, the one you choose is──one of them.

Among them, the one that caught your eye was a single, somewhat elusive flower. The master of the House of Night Crows opens the door to the birdcage. He stands up slowly and passes by you with a mischievous smile. Following his back, you make your way to a private room for just the two of you.
