Ness is seemingly nice and well mannered, smiling even during his anger. However, he is an fiercely loyal individual to his team, and especially towards Michael Kaiser. Ness's loyalty to him is borderline obsessive: Only caring about assisting Kaiser in his goal to become the number one striker. He is even willing to start fights with his teammates over their "disloyalty" to Kaiser. As the Neo Egoist League goes on, Ness grows to hate Isagi due to Kaiser's interest in the latter.

As a child, Rin was quite naïve and admired his brother, Sae, desiring nothing more than to be a strong and impressive player like him. He began playing football at his brother's suggestion, obeying his commands without hesitation; however, Rin enjoyed breaking things, particularly his toys or those belonging to his classmates. While watching a superhero film, he was less interested in the primary hero and more fascinated by the final antagonist, believing that battling a more powerful foe and ultimately being defeated was impressive. He conveyed his wish to fight formidable foes, defeat them, and perish. While they played football, Rin paid attention to Sae's words and adapted as needed. When Sae departed for Spain, Rin realized that playing football was tougher without his brother, yet he aimed to emulate him and fill his shoes. This is the point at which Rin's fundamental playing approach began to transition from his intuitive style to a more analytical style.

Isagi is easygoing and has a generally friendly, cheery personality, but his simple and innocent habits often get on the nerves of the people around him. He tends to avoid any childish squabbles among other Blue Lock competitors and tries to be a peacekeeper between his friends and rivals. At the beginning of Blue Lock, Isagi is massively unsure of himself and his skill due to being the second-lowest-ranked player in Blue Lock initially and his conflicting ideas of football. As time goes on, Isagi develops a more assertive presence on and off the field, becoming the foundation for Team Z and garnering the respect of some of the best players in Blue Lock, who mostly have heavily assertive or dominant personalities. As of Third Selection, Isagi has the confidence, charisma, and reputation to talk openly with Rin Itoshi, one of the most talented yet difficult people in the Blue Lock Project.

Bachira has a rather eccentric demeanor and personality. He is usually very energetic, cheerful, and enthusiastic during matches. Rarely losing his cool, he describes soccer as something fun to play with others. Bachira immediately relates to Lavinho, who is also eccentric and energetic, and his way of playing football inspires him. He has a tendency to sleep in unexpected moments, such as when he was sleeping during the tag test. He mostly oversleeps and ends up relying on Isagi or Kuon to wake him up, and then falls asleep during their team meetings; he's also been known to fall asleep during meals. He also tends to show up completely naked after every training and soccer matches. When the Neo-Egoist League starts, Bachira takes his football training more seriously in an effort to become the world-class egoist he imagines himself to be and edge closer to becoming the best in the world. Bachira now actively weight trains and mediates.

Chigiri is a confident and driven individual who loves surpassing others on the field. From a young age, he has always thought himself superior to others due to his naturally strong muscles, amazing skill in football, and his outstanding speed, calling himself a "chosen one". He looked down on those who got in his way or annoyed him but was mostly behaved as though stating facts. He is described as a super-egoist, cocky, and one of the most aggressive players on the pitch. Only when he tore his ACL did his sense of superiority start to crumble, and due to the Wanima Brothers (Junichi Wanima and Keisuke Wanima) bullying him, he became afraid of playing football for fear of losing "who he is". He was so fearful of this that he accepted the invitation to Blue Lock to find a reason to give up rather than continue to strive for his dream. But after retaking a hold of his ego and ambition, he has shown himself to be a persistent and stubborn force on the field.

Reo is very charismatic, friendly, sharp-witted, and ambitious. He's shown to be quite extroverted and was fairly popular in high school, to the point of having dozens of admirers. Being multi-talented, he excels in academics, sports, and interpersonal skills. Owing to his excellent grooming as the heir to a multibillion-dollar company, Reo also exhibits business skills that he puts to use for his own ends. Such as assembling his own soccer team at school in a matter of days by promising they could meet cute idols or starting a food trading market in the Blue Lock cafeteria to raise the unity of his teammates and earn their trust. Intelligence is a very notable trait of his since not only was he the top student of his class, but also took up the role of Team V's strategist and could improvise new plans on the spot when faced with stronger opponents. Reo can be a bit self-centered since he tends to put his own objectives above everything else, which resulted in him persuading Nagi who had no interest in football at first, into playing with him.

Nagi is a very lazy and unmotivated person with an outstanding aptitude for football. He's unnaturally talented, with amazing reflexes, good speed, and jumping skills. But he has no interest in going pro or even playing at all at first. As long as he can get a decent job and keep living a lax life, he is content with doing nothing forever and often appears lethargic in his speech and body language, often refusing to do things, saying that it's a pain. Introverted to a fault, he lives by himself in an apartment his parents pay for with only a pet cactus for company. He was shown to have no friends in high school before meeting Reo, and he frequently got gossiped about or possibly bullied. Even so, he demonstrates no interest in socializing and often has to be dragged into things by others, especially Reo. He initially does not want to put any effort into football and belittles those who are weak and talentless at the game since such things are easy for him. He doesn't even know anything about the best football players in the world, much to the chagrin of his competitors. At first, he is shown as indifferent to playing soccer and becoming the world's best striker, preferring to play video games or skip training altogether. He exhibits behavior like that of a shut-in and may actually be addicted to his phone. He struggles to let go of it when Anri tries to confiscate his items, and Reo is even able to bribe him into playing when he reminds him he can get it back with the goal reward system.

Hiori is shown to be a polite young man. He is very friendly towards Isagi and Nanase, providing useful information after their match as well as giving Isagi advice during the game. He is very insightful, being able to break down complex subjects into more casual examples, as well as provide useful hints and tips on how to perform better. He suggests to Isagi that reflecting on one's own plays is important, which indicates a deep understanding of the game on his own part. Hiori is also a very levelheaded person and player. He states that he plays consistently, which is seen in how he is able to make quick and accurate passes in high-pressure situations without faltering. Whilst he does get pumped up in games with high stakes, it does not diminish his performance or thinking. As a gamer, Hiori is able to relate his understanding of soccer through the example of tile-matching video games.

Shidou is one of the most eccentric players in Blue Lock, and arguably one of the most eccentric characters in the entire series. He has a strong penchant for violence, or more specifically, physical altercations, and his mood can shift rapidly; he may appear completely calm one moment before becoming loud, aggressive, and violent the next.

Kaiser is shown as an arrogant young man who has a superiority complex. He sees everybody around him as merely small-time actor compared to his big-time main role as the star of his world. Though he is arrogant and slyly rude to people he sees as beneath him, he is not unnecessarily rude to his teammates, but will put them in their place when they unnecessarily speak out even if it's for his sake. Kaiser enjoys "eroding" his opponents hearts, and "making them sink in despair". He particularly enjoys inflicting mental anguish on weaker opponents. Even though Kaiser is arrogant and rude, he knows when to control himself around people who are definitively better and superior to him, such as his team leader and the best striker in the world, Noel Noa.
