Both understand that this is nothing more than licking each other's wounds to stave off loneliness. Yet, they never part, spending their time laughing and talking about trivial things.
They know that when it eventually ends, solitude surely awaits them on the other side.
Because they both know this, they refuse to let go of this relationship for now.
