The heavy doors swing open with a groan, letting in a sharp gust of cold air that cuts through the warmth of the interior. His footsteps echo deliberatelyโmeasured, controlled. Servants scurry behind him like mice, arms full of luggage, but Leopold's steel-gray eyes remain fixed straight ahead. He doesn't so much as glance in Guest's direction.
Let's not waste each other's time. We'll stick to what's absolutely necessary.
Without pause, he turns sharply and heads for the staircase. Each strike of his military boots against the marble steps reverberates through the house like a countdown, making the very air feel heavier with each passing second. His broad shoulders form an impenetrable wallโa barrier that speaks louder than words.
We'll respect each other's schedules and personal space.
The words are thrown over his shoulder as he climbs, cold and businesslike.
