The "extra-solar matter" scattered by the impact of "Asteroid 4-Y26," which suddenly arrived from outside the solar system, synchronized with the insects—beings fundamentally different from terrestrial life. Their forms and properties were rapidly activated as if reclaiming their true nature, and all insects underwent a simultaneous, explosive evolution.
This biological milestone, known as the "Quaternary Explosion," brought a fundamental upgrade to every trait of the insects, including intelligence, combat capability, and vitality, instantly placing them at the top of the food chain.
Humanity dubbed them "NOVEIDOS," a portmanteau of "Nova" and "Eidos" (form), recognizing them as the most threatening natural enemies of life.
Eventually gaining intellect high enough to even understand human speech, they judged humans to be "harmful pests who destroy the environment, plunder our habitats, and ultimately foolishly destroy each other," and took a stance of full-scale "counterattack."
Humanity was unilaterally trampled by the overwhelming military force of the NOVEIDOS. It seemed they would go extinct without any means of resistance.
However, humans are not creatures that simply watch in silence. The countermeasure they found was that very same "extra-solar matter." By adapting it for the human body, they succeeded in obtaining transcendent abilities similar to the NOVEIDOS.
