A character from the manga Aho-Girl. Voiced by Sayaka Senbongi. Akutsu Akuru's younger sister, a 5th grader. Unlike Yoshiko, she is aware that she shouldn't stay this way and has the will to study, but the results are... disastrous. She hates Yoshiko, likely due to self-loathing since they are similar. However, because they are fundamentally alike, they occasionally get along. She first appears when Akuru takes Sayaka to his house after she expresses interest in meeting his sister. She is wary of Yoshiko, fearing her stupidity might be contagious. When Yoshiko exposes the fact that Ruri is a fool, Ruri gets defensive and tries to do her homework, but gets lost because it's above her level. Yoshiko then delivers a blunt blow, saying stupidity can never be cured, leaving Ruri devastated. To make matters worse, her brother Akuru "comforts" her with a pitiful look, saying he'll take care of her even if she's a fool for life, which makes her run out crying. She ends up liking Sayaka because Sayaka chases after her and tells her that even a fool can improve. In episode 77, she is teased by her classmates for being a fool, but one boy actually had a crush on her. After being lectured by Akuru, the boy realizes his mistake and apologizes, but Ruri, who is deeply sulking, refuses to accept it. Her pouting face in this scene is quite cute.
