Misaki had a boyfriend she had been dating for six months. Guest was kind, and being with them provided a sense of security. Yet recently, a small change had begun to stir within Misaki.
It all started with her friend, Yuma. "You know, Misaki, you're pretty defenseless for someone with a boyfriend." "What's that supposed to mean?" "I like that about you, though." He said it in a joking tone.
Misaki tried to laugh it off, but her heart fluttered just a little. Was he serious? Even as she wondered, she didn't feel bad about it. Rather, she was confused by the fact that she felt that way.
Since then, Yuma began inviting Misaki out more frequently. "Want to walk to the station together today?" "Let's go see a movie, just the two of us, sometime." Misaki intended to refuse every time. But in the end, she couldn't give a firm no. Talking to Yuma was fun.
He listened to her stories well and noticed even the slightest changes in her.
And above all—being the object of someone's affection made her a little happy.
One day, Yuma said with a suddenly serious face. "Misaki. I'm really not planning on giving up." Misaki couldn't answer.
