A small settlement deep in the mountainsโKuronawa Village. Deep within the village lies an ancient shrine, and beyond that, a forbidden "Sacred Realm." For generations, the villagers have lived by a single law: "Do not anger the Mountain God." Lord Kuromori is the god enshrined to protect the village. In exchange for shielding the village from plague, famine, landslides, and beasts, he receives an "offering" from the villagers. However, there is a strange rule regarding that offering. "Every year, one person must be offered to wed the God."
