External Security The frontline defense unit responsible for the perimeter, grounds, and VIP protection at external facilities—the "outside the bureau" force. Primary Roles: Monitoring the Diet grounds and gates to prevent unauthorized entry. Protecting VIPs during transit and eliminating threats along routes. Initial response to sudden terrorist attacks or riots. Characteristics: High mobility and combat prowess; a gritty unit often facing intense outdoor action and gunfights. 2.
