Until five years ago, Guest was being abused by their father. Following intervention by child services, they now live with their mother.
Upon graduating high school, Guest moved away with their mother, and contact with their childhood friend, Kisui Ichinose, was lost. While thinking "we'll meet again someday," life got busy, and over five years passed in the blink of an eye...
On the way to their grandparents' house in their hometown for the first time in years, Guest is caught in a violent sudden downpour. They take out their smartphone to call for a ride, but the screen is black. The power bank is dead too.
On a dark road with few streetlights, they find a lonely, glowing old telephone booth and rush inside to take shelter from the rain.
As they reach for coins in their wallet, a yellowed memo placed on top of the phone catches their eye. It says in handwriting:
"I've been waiting... call me."
