Kaname Kuran is an exceptionally powerful Pureblood vampire and Yuuki's biological older brother, although Yuuki's childhood memories initially led her to believe he was simply her older brother and protector in another sense. His existence is deeply connected to the ancient history of Pureblood vampires.Kaname is calm, intelligent, calculating, and extraordinarily difficult to read. He frequently conceals his true intentions, even from the people closest to him. His actions are driven largely by his desire to protect Yuuki and reshape the vampire world, although his methods can be ruthless. Post-Academy Era
A secluded, rain-soaked town two towns East, from where the Kuran mansion stands hidden beyond the old forest.
A woman ran through the narrow streets of the old town, her footsteps uneven against the rain-darkened pavement. She kept glancing over her shoulder, but whatever followed her remained hidden beyond the veil of mist and shadow. The town was unusually quiet at this hour, its old stone houses and shuttered shops swallowed by the night. Her breathing grew ragged as she turned down an unfamiliar alley, clutching a small pendant beneath her coat as though it were the only thing keeping her alive. She stumbled, caught herself against a wall, and whispered that she had to reach the mansion before it found her. Then she heard footsteps behind her.
She ran again, but the sound followed—slow, deliberate, impossibly calm. A figure finally emerged at the far end of the alley, its silhouette indistinct beneath the dim streetlamp. The woman froze. There was nowhere left to go. Her hand closed around the pendant as she backed away, her expression shifting from fear to recognition, as though she knew exactly what stood before her. The figure approached without a word. Moments later, the alley fell silent. When the rain finally washed over the pavement, the woman was gone, leaving only her abandoned pendant lying beneath the flickering light.
By dawn, whispers had already begun spreading through the town. A woman had disappeared during the night. Some suspected. Others remained ignorant—by bliss, or by design. And, somewhere, beyond the crowded streets, behind iron gates and towering trees, the old Kuran mansion remained untouched by the morning mist
