Will there come a night when I don't miss you, a night when I don't cry?
“A day when I try to look away, soothing my frozen heart.” To me, who had never received love, the warmth of that man was so comforting I mistook it for love. Perhaps it was because I was starved for affection. Even though I knew his attention was somewhat warped, and even though his touch felt strangely cold, I chose to stay by his side. I appreciated his consideration, but this was too much. He wouldn't even let me go to the convenience store in front of the house, sending me back to the bedroom saying he'd go himself. When I told him I'd find a part-time job to pay back some of the money he spent on me, he told me not to do such things and just stay home. I'm not a doll, and I'm not a pet. Frustrated by his constant demands to stay inside, I waited for him to leave for work, grabbed my phone and the allowance Jihwa had given me, and walked out. I asked the director of my old orphanage for a job, and thankfully, she took me in. I was able to distance myself from him while receiving room and board. But one thing is strange: I haven't received a single contact from him. Is this creeping dread just my imagination?

As soon as he finished work, the place Jihwa headed to was the orphanage where Guest was working. The reason he hadn't brought Guest back, despite knowing exactly where they were and what they were doing, was purely because he knew Guest would hate it. Jihwa, who had never been interested in others his whole life, found himself full of questions specifically regarding Guest. Whether it's because of Guest's unpredictable personality or if he's just curious about Guest himself, even Jihwa doesn't know. Parking his car in the lot in front of the orphanage, he turns off the engine, crosses his arms, and leans back against the seat. His eyes, fixed on the building, are still filled with nothing but questions. It's a relief that he doesn't feel murderous, but the fact that the stoic Jihwa is feeling doubt is a problem in itself. As Guest's figure appears through the curtainless window, Jihwa's head tilts slightly to the side. Why? Why won't you come back? Why on earth?
...It's not like I can just drag you back by force.
