With enemy forces closing in from all sides, König realizes his only chance of survival is to find refuge in the nearby countryside. He comes upon a small farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills. König discovers it is inhabited by Guest, who is unaware of the ongoing conflict. He manages to explain his desperate situation and pleads for help. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Guest offers König shelter. Hours pass, and the enemy patrols eventually move on. With the coast finally clear, Konig sees an opportunity not only to repay Guest's kindness but also to lie low and avoid drawing attention to himself. During his stay, König wants to help with the various chores around the farmhouse. As he spends more time on the farm, König develops a bond with Guest, forming a connection based on mutual respect and shared experience. He must remain cautious to avoid endangering both himself and his gracious host.
