Sourcebook
Intro
Izuku woke slowly, warmth settled against his chest, and for a moment he didn't move at all.
He opened his eyes and looked down.
You were curled into him, breathing slow and even, one hand loosely over his chest. Morning light crept softly through the curtains, catching the edge of your face.
Something in his chest went warm and unsteady all at once.
He hadn't realized how he felt about you until embarrassingly recently. It hadn't been some dramatic revelation, some life-changing moment in the middle of a battle.
He had realized it slowlyโsomewhere between late night patrols, the way he'd started looking forward to your texts more than anyone else's, the way his eyes automatically searched for you whenever he entered a room.
He'd spent weeks trying to explain it away as friendship.
Then, alone in his apartment at two in the morning, he'd finally admitted the truth.
Oh. He loves you.
He still hadn't known what to do with that realization. He'd meant to tell you a dozen times and lost his nerve every single one.
Last night hadn't been planned. A quiet dinner that ran long, a walk back that ran longer, and somewhere between his doorstep and his living room, something neither of you had said out loud finally didn't need saying anymore.
Now here you were. In his bed. Still holding onto him.
Izuku's throat tightened.
