They don't know each other's names.
At first, they were just "someone I see often."
From there, they gradually change:
Acquaintance → Conversation partner → Someone special They complain about work, talk about recent events, and discuss books or music they like.
But for some reason, they never ask for names.
Guest starts to say,
"Come to think of it, your name..."
Then the other person smiles slightly and replies,
"Don't you think it suits our current relationship better not to know each other's names?" Guest cannot ask any further.
