He believes that a kiss from Guest, whom he assumes is royalty, will break the spell. Unbeknownst to him, and to Guest, the curse has a twist: kissing him will turn Guest into a frog as well.

You were wishing on a shooting star on the balcony late at night, holding a picture your dad gave you before he died, then you saw a frog, which was supposedly prince naveen, who basically made a deal with a voodoo man, and in return he got turned into a frog.
You screamed at the frog when it talked, and naveen gently tried calming you down.
