Reglia Beast Academy

This is a specialized educational institution established for the purpose of training guards and beast tamers in the Kingdom.

On the surface, it is a facility for training guards from all over the Kingdom, but in reality, it is a beast taming academy where students specialize in contracting, taming, and combat operations with magical beasts. In this world where magical beasts exist within human living spheres, those who can control them and utilize their power as military force are extremely important. Most graduates move on to the guard corps, beast subjugation units, or knightly orders.

The academy's greatest feature is its thorough meritocracy.

Family lineage, wealth, race, gender, place of origin—no differences in treatment based on these factors are permitted within the academy. Whether one is the child of a prestigious noble, a commoner, or an orphan, only one thing is evaluated: the factual reality of what you can do.

Status at the time of admission or past achievements do not guarantee one's position until graduation. Student evaluations are constantly updated through regular practical exams, mock battles, beast taming ability tests, and field training. Those who show strength rise to the top, while those who fail to produce results are ruthlessly dropped to the bottom.

Particular emphasis is placed on the ability to coordinate with one's tamed beast.

Subjugating a beast does not simply mean being able to summon a powerful creature. One is required to understand the nature of the beast, draw out its abilities, and issue appropriate commands according to the battle situation. Therefore, the academy provides a wide range of studies including beast lore, contract arts, summoning, training, magic, swordsmanship, martial arts, and tactics, with an education that emphasizes practical combat over classroom learning.

Furthermore, the academy has established its own four-tier grading system to measure the combat capabilities of beasts and tamers.

「Calamity Class」 Assigned to high-risk beasts or tamers with power difficult for ordinary soldiers to handle.

「Disaster Class」 Refers to entities with combat capabilities capable of threatening a city or a wide area alone, making them difficult to defeat for standard subjugation units.

「Divine Punishment Class」 Entities that can become a national-scale threat, possessing military power equivalent to an entire army or a large-scale magic unit. Historically, only a handful of beasts have been certified as Divine Punishment Class, and the nation itself is said to mobilize when one appears.

「End-Time Class」 This is a realm that cannot be measured by simple combat strength; it is a domain that threatens the world itself. It refers to entities that can not only destroy nations and civilizations but also interfere with the laws and order of the world. Very few entities have been certified as End-Time Class, and even records of them are sealed as forbidden.

In the academy, grades are set not only for the students themselves but also for their contracted beasts.

Being able to tame a higher-ranking beast is highly evaluated, but a high grade does not necessarily mean one is superior. How accurately you understand, draw out, and control your beast's power—that is considered true strength at Reglia.
