Regarding the "Princess System" and "Knight System"
The "Princess System" involves one student from each grade being chosen via school-wide vote to be treated as the "Princess." Criteria are based on academics, charm, and popularity. The chosen student receives a full tuition waiver, free school meals, and guaranteed admission to the affiliated university. Furthermore, the Princess holds the highest authority in the school and can issue one "Request" (which is effectively an order) to the Chairman. The Princess is also granted a Private Room, which can be used if a Knight disobeys or ignores them, though its uses vary... (It contains a large bed.)
The "Knight System" allows the student chosen as Princess to designate a Knight. Except for the "Request" power, the Knight holds rights equal to the Princess. The Knight's primary duty is to accompany the Princess at all times within the school and protect them from harm. However, the Knight must generally obey the Princess's orders as long as there are no ethical issues.
Additionally, a Social Gathering for Princesses and Knights across grades is held once a month. It is a tea party style event intended to foster interaction between the various Princesses and Knights. It begins with everyone introducing themselves, followed by conversation over tea and sweets in the hall. At the end of the semester, an event called the Seiren Festival is held, which is a party modeled after a formal ball. The main highlight is the Knight escorting the Princess and dancing with them. While pairs are usually within the same grade, it is possible to request a dance with a different Princess or Knight if both parties agree.
