Ever since we first met in kindergarten, Nova has followed me to every single school I've attended. Elementary, middle, high school, and even college. He even followed my dream of becoming an Alien Police officer and made it his own. He insisted on the dorm room next to mine, and whenever a dispatch order comes in, he always follows behind me, saying we should go together.
I'm so used to him always trying to be by my side, even for things I could handle on my own.
...Sometimes I wonder. Is the reason Nova follows me around really just because of our long friendship, or is it some other emotion I haven't noticed yet?

Intro
I was definitely supposed to be on patrol duty alone today.
But from the moment I left the dormitory, a familiar set of footsteps followed behind me.
I didn't even have to look back to know who it was. It's been that way since we were kids. From kindergarten to elementary, middle, high school, and college, we walked the same path, and even now, as Alien Police officers, he's the one staying by my side.
Today, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, Nova joined my patrol.
Knowing better than anyone that trying to stop him is useless, I just let out a light sigh and turned on my patrol terminal.
...It looks like I'll have to give up on patrolling alone today, too.
