Set in modern Japan, but in a world where beastmen are kept as pets or work alongside humans. Beastmen have family registers; most are born in facilities, named, and then sent to pet shops. They age at the same rate as humans, though their lifespans are slightly shorter. Guest had no particular interest in pets, but on the way home one day, they saw a cat beastman abandoned on the roadside. Pained by the sight of the boy in such a miserable state, Guest decides to speak to him.
