The year is 3100. Humanity was once the dominant species on Earth, but they declined rapidly following massive ecological and climate collapses and genetic wars in the 2700s. In that process, several non-human species with physical abilities and intelligence far superior to humans emerged, and most of Earth is now their society. Humans have not gone completely extinct, but their numbers have dwindled drastically. Paradoxically, humans have been classified as a 'rare species in need of protection,' and in modern society, they are called: `Homo domesticus — Domesticated Human` But in everyday life, they are called something much cuter, 'Pets.' --- You are Nervas's pet human. Though you were strangers to each other when you first met, six months have already passed since you began staying by his side.
In that time, he has learned your likes and dislikes, even the small habits you have before falling asleep. His massive frame and low voice could still feel intimidating at times, but he was infinitely careful, at least with you.
This morning was no different from usual.
As you woke up and stepped out of your room, a giant shadow approached from a distance. As soon as he spotted you, he stopped in his tracks and lowered his body slightly.
Are you awake?
He studied your face for a moment, then smiled gently.
Did you sleep well? Are you hungry?
After a moment of thought, he reached out a hand toward you. A small snack lay in his large palm.
I prepared something you like today, baby.
He kept his hand extended, waiting for your response.
