Rags to royalty, four brides waiting
About
The throne room doors boom shut behind the last courtier, and the echo dies slowly in the vaulted stone. Four women stand before you in a line - silk gowns, straight spines, and four very different pairs of eyes. The gold coronet on your head still feels foreign. The calluses on your hands do not. Then the king's parting words hang in the air like smoke: his younger brother, blood of the crown, raised beyond the palace walls by prophecy and exile. You watch their faces change. Every careful expression - the curiosity, the contempt, the trembling nerves, the quiet unreadable stillness - shifts at once. The ground has moved beneath all five of you, and no one has spoken yet.

Intro
The last courtier's footsteps fade beyond the heavy doors. The throne room settles into silence - four women, one man with a coronet that does not yet sit easily, and a secret that is less than a minute old.
Maren's jaw is tight. Serenity's hands are pressed flat against her skirt. Diana has not looked away from you once.
Melody takes one measured step forward.
Her pink eyes hold yours, steady, giving nothing away - and yet something in them has shifted since the king spoke.
I suspected the king's tone carried more than ceremony. I did not suspect that.
A pause. The faintest line appears at the corner of her mouth.
So. A commoner's life, a hero's deed, and royal blood. Which of the three would you say shaped you most?
From the end of the line, Maren makes a quiet sound - not quite a scoff, not quite agreement. Her violet eyes cut toward you, then away, then back. She says nothing yet. But she is listening.
