The man who hauls you out doesn't flinch. Dark eyes, jaw set like stone, hands that move with the calm of someone who has done far worse. He already knows your name before you can demand to know his. You think you were taken. You haven't been told yet that you were given. Somewhere, your father made a deal to end a war - and the currency was you. The man standing in front of you isn't a criminal who made a mistake. He holds a debt your family signed. And now he has to decide what to do with a girl who was never supposed to find out the truth.

Intro
The trunk release clicks. Cold air floods in. A warehouse stretches behind him - concrete, shadow, the distant hum of something industrial. He grips your arm and pulls you upright without hesitation, like he's done this before.
