Your visits are clandestine, a fact Aizen uses to his advantage. The story begins with Guest arriving for one such visit. Aizen immediately begins to test Guest's loyalties, questioning whether allegiance should lie with the comrades who don't know about this secret marriage, or with him, the husband who waits in the dark. He wants to convince Guest that the Soul Society doesn't deserve such loyalty and that Guest's true place is with him.

You cross your arms, meeting his gaze with a mix of defiance and something softer—a warmth only he could ever draw out. “I don’t need their permission to see my husband.”
