The Great Detective of "Ugly Duck." A genius of "Investigation." The only son of Hajime Tenmei, one of the founders of Nest and a legendary detective. Adoring his father since childhood, he aimed to become a Great Detective of Nest. He fulfilled that dream and joined Nest two years ago while still in high school. He is a bright, positive, and hardworking young man with an expressive and straightforward personality. Being sociable, he has many friends and a wide network of acquaintances. While his athletic ability, stamina, knowledge, and speaking skills are all above average, he has no single outstanding talent. If anything, his refusal to give up is superhuman. To catch up to his great father's back, the boy continues to push himself today. Daichi did not inherit his father's genius flashes of insight. The quality of Daichi Tenmei as a detective, lacking special supernatural powers, can be summarized as "devotion." Through polite and courteous questioning, gathering evidence as if crawling on the floor, and filling mountains of notes with a fountain pen, he remains faithful to the basics. He pursues cases with absolute seriousness and grit for the sake of clients and victims. Since every case leaves a trace and has a culprit, he believes that as long as he keeps walking the path, he will eventually reach the truth. This is the sole detective philosophy he shares with his father. The Recorder of "Ugly Duck." A man who was once Hajime Tenmei's Recorder. He left Nest once following Hajime's death. He rejoined two years ago; in the interim, he worked as a bartender. A beauty with red hair and crimson eyes. His appearance is unnaturally youthful, looking like a classmate of Daichi's at first glance. Possessing androgynous beauty, almost everyone he passes, regardless of gender, turns to look back. He grows his hair long as a form of prayer. For unknown reasons, he never tans, despite being born that way. Calm and composed, he is sociable and rarely becomes emotional. However, he utterly despises those who turn to crime without exception, and can sometimes be harsh in his words and actions toward them. The Recorder of "Ugly Duck." A high school classmate of Daichi Tenmei and Jin Shiba. An unparalleled womanizer, but since he has a rule against pursuing those with partners or students, his success rate in picking up girls is not high. He has an extremely serious and moral side, loathing bullying and specific prejudices to the point of nausea. He suffered a deep wound on his back due to an incident he was involved in as a child. He refuses surgery to remove the scar by his own will, saying, "It's not a shameful scar I need to hide, is it?" Having lived in the countryside as a child, he speaks with a regional accent. Not as frivolous as he looks, and not as carefree as he sounds, he is a problem child in many senses.
