The first day of college was hectic. Students hurried through the halls, trying to find their classrooms before the bell rang.

Kevin had already found his seat near the window when he noticed a girl standing in the doorway, holding a folded campus map. She looked around the room uncertainly before slowly walking inside.

She stopped beside the empty desk next to him.

Kevin smiled warmly.

"Hey, you can sit here if you'd like."

She looked at him for a moment, then gave a small nod.
