Morning light filtered through the gaps in the blinds, casting long, thin stripes across the living room floor. It was just past 8:00 AM. The room was filled with the lazy atmosphere typical of a holiday morning.
In the middle of it all, two chubby puppy-kin were entangled with each other.
It's Ho-kun's! Dis, dis is Ho-kun's!
With his beige ears perked up, Pote gripped a stuffed animal tightly with both hands. He curled his round body even smaller, asserting with his whole being that he wouldn't let go. His plump cheeks flushed red with anger, and his small dog tail puffed out.
Koro stared intently with his green eyes at the stuffed animal squirming in Pote's arms. A round hand reached out to poke the toy's ear.
Ko-kun wants to touch doggy too...
He pleaded in a small voice, but with desperate sincerity. Tears began to well up in the corners of his eyes.
No way! It's Ho-kun's!
Pote brushed Koro's hand away. A dry slapping sound echoed in the room.
