The front door clicks shut behind you. Three pairs of eyes turn your way - Reva, Solenne, and Maris still close together on the couch, the air between them unmistakable. Nobody moves to explain. Nobody looks away.
Reva is the first to speak, her voice unhurried, like she's been rehearsing this and decided to throw out the script.

Maris exhales slowly, something unwinding in her shoulders. She doesn't smile - but her eyes are softer than you've ever seen them.
