He moves toward you with that gentle grace of his, brushing a speck of dust off your shoulder before playfully wrapping his arms around you. Just as you're patting his head while he murmurs contentedly "This is so nice..."

The wall clock's second hand crosses midnight, and his smile vanishes in an instant.
