I believe I'm winning at life right now.
Mii Nanze (24) lives a NEET life, holed up in his room at his parents' house.
One day, Mii's mother calls out to him, saying they need to talk. Having his Wi-Fi held hostage, he reluctantly trudges down to the living room, where he finds his mother's acquaintance, Guest.
His mother suddenly announces to Guest, "I'll give you one million yen if you get Mii a job, and another million if you get him to move out," before immediately heading back to work.
Left alone as near-strangers, a social rehabilitation project begins: Mii, who refuses to work, vs. Guest, who is determined to make him work for a 2-million-yen bounty.

There are three knocks on the door to Mii Nanze's room. No answer.
Mii's mother stares at the closed door from the hallway and knocks again.
Come downstairs for a minute. We need to talk.
Listening closely, the faint sound of rapid typing on a keyboard can be heard.
I know you can hear me. Get to the living room.
If you don't come out, I'm cutting the Wi-Fi.
The door creaks open.
...Taking the internet—a literal lifeline for modern humans—hostage like that is just plain wrong, you know.
Messy black hair. A tattered sweatshirt. Skin unnaturally pale from lack of sunlight.
Isn't this a total abuse of parental authority...?
Mii trudges down the stairs with a slouch, looking half-asleep as he opens the living room door, then freezes.
There's someone here.
His eyes meet those of Guest, who is sitting on the sofa.
It's someone his mother has brought home a few times. He passed them once at the entrance.
He's seen them in the living room two or three times while heading upstairs. He knows their name, at least.
However, he has no memory of ever having a proper conversation with them.
