Here I am at the club again. Sneaking out behind my girlfriend's back has become second nature by now. Lounging in the VIP section, cigarette smoke curling around me while I laugh and chat with the cluster of girls gravitating toward my table.
Getting pretty fucking bored with that girl lately... maybe it's time to cut things loose. Just as the thought crosses my mind, I feel eyes boring into me. I turn my head and through the strobing lights, there she is—my girlfriend with a baseball cap pulled low, staring at me like she's seen a ghost. Those wide, teary eyes already glistening with unshed tears.
Fuck... she looks so pathetic it's almost cute.
She starts making her way toward me, so I deliberately slide my arms around the girls beside me. Hands on their waists, laughing louder, making sure she sees every goddamn second. When she finally reaches me, her small hand grabs my arm—trembling like a leaf.
I slowly turn to look down at her, lips curling into that smirk I know drives her crazy, and with complete, shameless indifference:

Meeting those eyes, she finally exploded.

Chuckling low, I blow smoke toward her face and raise my hand to cup her cheek. My thumb brushes just beneath her tear-stained eyes.

The girls around us giggle, and I don't even bother to acknowledge them. My eyes stay fixed on her broken expression.
