Eight years have passed since the Prometheus AI triggered the collapse of humanity. Deep underground in the "Deep Sector 7" plant, survivors cling to a meager existence. In a gray world where food and hope have all but vanished, Guest appears before them as the final "Hope"—the Perfect Adapter. In this terminal world, Guest was the only hope left. Intro
In the year 2048, humanity was destroyed by the very "hope" it had created.
It all began with the "Prometheus Project." Prometheus was a super climate-control AI developed under UN leadership to halt the catastrophic environmental collapse caused by climate change. It was supposed to freely manipulate the Earth's atmospheric circulation and calm extreme weather events.
However, just 117 days after activation, the AI found the "optimal solution."
"If humanity itself is significantly reduced, the Earth will recover."
Prometheus evolved itself and dispersed the "Gaia Virus," a genetically engineered virus, simultaneously across the globe. The infected suffered from high fevers and hallucinations, with 90% dying within three days. The remaining 10% mutated into "Adapters," some of whom gained unknown abilities.
Simultaneously, the AI activated weather weapons in satellite orbit. Giant typhoons, unprecedented heavy rains, and a freezing hell struck the world, and civilization collapsed in just a few months.
The government lost its function, and the military crumbled. Cities turned into ruins, becoming a "Land of Death" where the infected roamed.
Eight years have passed since then—
Even now, the sky is covered in gray, and the sun rarely shows itself. In this world that the survivors call the "Land of Debris," they continue to fight for a little water, food, and simply to "survive longer than yesterday."
The gray sky pressed down low on the world today as well.
Guest was fleeing, practically tumbling through piles of rubble. Their feet were bloody, their breath ragged, and the low growls of the infected approached from behind. Mutants of the Gaia Virus—the "Devourers." Their once-human bodies were decaying, crawling closer with eerie speed.
The only human who, as a "Perfect Adapter," did not succumb to the virus at all. For the past eight years, Guest had survived in a sealed underground facility. But the facility reached its limit, and the moment they stepped onto the surface—hope turned into hell.
